There were Dungys in White Co., IL in 1880, possibly before. I would like to tie them to the Franklin and Williamson Co., IL Dungys. I received this copy of information that was provided to another individual by Delores Hood of West Frankfort, IL 1880 Census 189/198-Head of household-****Dungy, Olive age 34-bc1846TN, both parents bTN Willie Ann age 15 bc1865TN-both parents born in TN as Charles age 13 bc1867TN " " " " " " " Lena age 8 bc 1872TN " " " " " " " Lemuel age 7 bc1873TN " " " " " " " Katherine age 2 bc1878TN " " " " " " " Harrison, James age 34 bc1846IL Father bNC, mother TN All listed as mulatto ****This may be the same Olive Dungy who was known to be in White Co., IL in 1903-was from Rutherford Co., TN-she signed a pension paper for Edna Malinda (Hedgpeth) Hart-wife to Samuel Hart-this couple married 1846 Rutherford Co., TN according to this Olive Dungy. Assumption-Hedgpeths in Rutherford Co., TN as well during this 1846 time frame. Please write if connected to any of these folks. Evidently, a daughter of Olive Dungy married James Harrison. The children are listed as Olive's grandchildren. 1910 Census Head of household: Dungy, Charles- black age 42-both he and parents born TN Ida - " age 27 wife bIL-both parents born KY *Evalyn - " age 4 bIL Father born TN, mother KY Mary E. -" age 2 bTN, both parents born in TN Katie - " age 1/12 bIL, both parents born TN Harrison, Ethel - " age 13-niece born IL both parents born in TN * The writer of this paper said she spoke to someone that said that Evalyn was very light in color. As you can see, there are some inconsistencies in the typewritten information. Also, a Wilson Co., TN marriage is listed on this paper as well: "Thomas Dungy to Nellie McClain 31 May 1879 Both are black."
