Hello Carol and All, I too have heard this Marth Ann Eubanks story, and have spent a lot of time on this branch, complicated more by the errors in the 1860 census. Here is what I have. Aquilla Greer, Jr. (son of Asa Greer and Rebecca Neighbors) (Aquilla also grandson of Aquilla Greer Jr) married Elizabeth Welch, 21 March 1815 in Tennessee. Children, Mary Elizabeth (Polly), William, John, Martha Ann, George William. Mary Elizabeth married James "Bigfoot" Eubanks, Jr. - 03 March 1835 Martha Ann married Reuben W. Quigley - 27 March 1856 Mary Elizabeth and James Eubanks Jr. had at least 11 children. One was Nancy Jane Eubanks. Nancy married Reuben's brother - Philip Carroll Quigley Because Martha Ann Quigley was Aunt to Nancy Jane Eubanks, someone may have thought that Martha was a Eubanks, but Martha was Aunt on Nancy's mother's side. ASA GREER - named his son after his father Aquilla Greer, Jr. Aquilla Greer, Jr. born 1744, married to Mary Haynes son - Aquilla Greer, Sr. married Elizabeth Smith son - Asa Greer born 1772, married Rebecca Neighbors son of Asa - Aquilla Greer, Jr. born 1792, married Elizabeth Welch Reuben Walden Quigley - brother to my great grandfather.
