Sylvester Higgins Morris (called "Higg") married Charlotte Florence Rice (called "Florrie") on 30 Sep 1880. He was from Norris City, born Nov 1859, and died 5 Aug 1937, in Norris City. He was the son of William L. (or was that an S.?) Morris and Mary E. Douglas. Higg and Florrie had the following children: 1. Eglon E. (July 1881 - 19 Mar 1902) md. James H. Pearce, son of W. W. Pearce and Alice Bennett. Eglon and James moved to Washington (state). 2. Clarinda H. ("Rena") (Oct 1883 - ?) md. Logan Farmer of Gossett, IL, son of Charles T. Farmer and Louisa J. Green. Rena and Logan moved to Eddyville, IL. 3. Nellie T. (13 Sep 1886 - 4 Mar 1977) md. Pinkus Edward Farmer (brother of Logan, above), born in KY. 4. Arthur S. (21 Oct 1889 - 19 Aug 1955) md. ___?___ Brook. They resided in Detroit, MI, and then moved to Dixon, IL Two children: Norwood Morris and Elizabeth Morris. 5. Grace May (Nov 1891 - ?) md. Hugh L. Barger, son of Anderson Barger and ___?___ Weadman. 6. Verla M. (18 Jul 1894 - 25 Oct 1938) md. Jesse McMurtry of Gossett, IL; son of Alvin McMurtry and Rachel Hollister. 7. Mary Letha (9 Dec 1896, Norris City - 29 Jan 1967, Dixon, IL) md. Andrew Johnson, 11 Aug 19129, Akron, OH; he was the son of Andrew Jackson Johnson (from Saline Co.) and Adar Francis Ellis (from Putnam Co., TN). 8. William Oscar (Mar 1899 - ____?___) md. Neta M. Eaton, dau of L. B. Eaton and Anna M. Bickel. They had 3 children: Sally Morris, md. #2, ___?___ Smith; Max Morris, residing in Nashville, IN, in 1992; and Judy Morris who married Bill Mann, and resided in Kansas City, MO, in 1992.
