To Phil Merritt I have looked through a lot of books tonight trying to help you. I agree with the info. you have given and in what GENIE has provided. I have no proof, but think the parents of Phoebe Collard were Richard Collard and Sarah Fryer, m. March 12, 1835 in White County, IL. (m. verif. by White County Marriages, 1816-1865, by Patricia Davis). I think this because Phoebe, age 5, was living in the home of Richard and Malinda Frier, (ages 66 and 55, both born in N.C.) as listed in the 1850 Census of White Co., IL. Sarah could have been an older daughter. Phil, I am sure the Hist. Soc. would accommodate you by going to the Court House to look up the marriage information, but it won't give the names of the parents of the bride and groom, because that information wasn't added at the Court House until several years later. You might try old church records, but I am not sure which. Hope you find something.
