Albert and Phebe Willis, both 23, appear in the 1870 census in Heralds Prairie, White Co., IL, with daus Sarah 3,and Margaret 2, all b IL. The 1880 census lists them as Albert and Phope [sic] Willis, in Indian Creek, White Co., age 33. Interestingly, Phebe's fa is said to be b KY, mo b IL. This might be a small clue to sorting out her parents. Their children are listed as Annie (14), Maggie, Noah, Martha, Harrison, Charlie, and Rosy F. (6 mos.) The 1910 census lists them in the same place but at age 58 and 56, resp., and has Albert b KY but Phebe and her parents all b IL (sounds like someone was a little confused on that and on the ages). They are with son George 24, and dau Mae, 19, plus grand-children Neva, Tho.(?) A. and Nellie Mae Norris, plus son-in-law Elvy Norris, widowed. There are a "mess of" Collards in White Co. (excuse the pun). Have you checked the White Co. archives, burials, obits, cemeteries, mortality schedules, etc. and the family that Phebe was living with in 1850/1860 as possible aunt/uncle, older sib/in-law, etc.?
