* OBITUARY: Floella Seitz * Oct. 17, 2012 3 p.m. * Carmi -- Floella Seitz, 81, of rural Carmi died Wednesday, October 17, 2012 in Carmi from the results of a traffic accident. She was born May 3, 1931 in Carmi, the daughter of Fred and Lena (Pfister) Sailer. She married Kenneth E. Seitz on June 4, 1949, and he preceded her in death earlier this year on January 28. Floella was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Carmi. She was a farm wife and helped on the farm driving tractors and grain trucks. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed making costumes, doing alterations, piecing together quilt tops and then quilting them, and making loom-woven rugs. Gardening and cooking were among her favorite pastimes. Survivors include a son, John R. (Susan) Seitz of South Haven, Mich.; daughters Sandra K. (Charles) Williams of Carrier Mills and Jeanie (Terry) Spielman of Pecatonica; son-in-law Jerry (Carolyn) Crockett; grandchildren John David (Courtney) Crockett, Nicholas (Richelle) Williams, Erin Williams, Johnna (Nick) Bither; great grandchildren, Lucas Connelly Crockett, Sophia Laren Crockett and Brodie Crockett. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Emma Duvall, Florence May, Margaret Sailer, Ruby Daniel, Helen Simmons; and a brother, John Sailer. Visitation is 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, October 19 at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi. The funeral is at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 20, with burial in White County Memorial Garden near Carmi.
