Their parents were Robert Barnett Spence (1824-1878) and Adaline Calvert. (1828-1906) Robert Barnett Spence was the son of Robert Spence(1795-1869) and Jane Wilson (1807-1882). Robert Spence immigrated from Linlithgow, West Lothian, Scotland in 1826. He was an accomplished carpenter and furniture maker and I have inherited a huge chest was multiple drawers 9 ft X 12 ft which they brought over from Scotland with them to New York, It has passed to the oldest daughter in the decedents family since 1824 when it was made.
