She was born September 18, 1954, the daughter of Leonard and Leoda Parker. She married Merle B. Bartley and he preceded her in death June 5, 2011. Lawana was a certified nurses aide. Lawana is survived by her mother, Leoda McWhirter of Evansville, Ind.; a son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Sally Ann Bartley of Carmi; four sisters, Angie, Daisy, Sandy and Lisa; four brothers, Jaime, Jeff, Terry Lee and Tony; and three grandchildren, Cody Andrew, Christine Michelle and Brett Andrew Bartley. Lawana was preceded in death by her father; her husband; and a brother, Mike Denson. Funeral services will be private. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
