CARMI-- Larry A. Smithhart, 38, of West Melbourne, Fla., formerly of Carmi, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2012, in Benton. He was born Sept. 28, 1973, in Carmi, the son of Larry Allen and Donna Lynn (Jones) Smithhart. Larry married Renea Bingman on Dec. 31, 2006, and she survives. He was a design engineer for BRP Inc. and a member of Centerpointe Church in Palm Bay, Fla. Surviving are his wife, Renea Smithhart; a daughter, Lana Nicole Smithhart; a son, Landon Scott Stone, all of West Melbourne, Fla.; his parents, Larry and Donna Smithhart of Carmi; a grandmother, Hildred Wechsler of Dixon; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Cheri (Jack) Hall of Hanover, and Germany and Nikki (Chris Geene) Smithhart of Ogdensburg, N.J.; his mother-in-law, Nancy Collins; his father-in-law, Ernie (Linda) Bingman; two sisters-in-law, Sherry (Scott) Bingman and Jenny (Scott) Howard; two brothers-in-law, Ray (Lora) Bingman and Will Bingman; eight nieces and nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorial services for Larry A. Smithhart will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 30, in First Baptist Church in Grayville, with the Rev. Thomas G. Walker and the Rev. Rodney Groff officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given in Larry's name to American Cancer Society, c/o Centerpointe Church, 891 Coply Street S.E., Palm Bay, FL 32909 for his passion for Relay For Life.
