Carmi Times, Posted Aug 10, 2012 @ 01:07 PM Carmi,. IL Richard L. Smith, age 56, of Carmi, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at his home. He was born November 10, 1955 in Carmi, the son of Isaac and Opal (Cox) Smith. Richard enjoyed sports and spending time with his great nieces and nephews. He especially loved his cat, Joe. Richard is survived by four nephews and their wives, Anthony and Karlyn Smith of Mt. Pleasant, Mich., John and Rada Turner of Carmi, Michael R. Talley of Shepherd, Mich., and Adam and Kelly Talley of Lansing, Mich.; a brother-in-law and his wife, Michael and Gloria Talley, of Carmi; and a niece, Lisa Graham of Princeton, Ind. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Judith Elaine Talley. A private family service will be held at a later date. Local arrangements have been provided by Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi.
