Carmi Times, Posted Aug 01,2012@0309 PM Endfield, IL Arah L. Bennett, age 80, of Enfield, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at Enfield Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. She was born October 3, 1931, in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of Elmer and Arah (Griffin) Merritt. She married Joseph Bennett. Arah was a member of Enfield Christian Church. She was known for her beautiful singing voice. She is survived by a son, Richard McClellan, of Waynesville, Mo.; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Onalee Merritt of Columbus, Ind.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her best friend, Hugh Swaford; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; a brother, Sam Logston; and two sisters, Virginia Vozel and Clara DeBoer. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Enfield. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
