    3. <http://www.carmitimes.com> Carmi Times Posted Feb 23, 2012 @ 03:32 PM Carmi, Ill. - Well known businessman, Arnold Preston Vaughan, 84, Carmi, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. He was born June 18, 1927, in Burnt Prairie, the son of Gleason and Mary (Wallace) Vaughan. He married Mary Ann Ritcheson on Sept. 1, 1952, and they were together 53 years. She preceded him in death Jan. 11, 2006. Arnold owned and operated Vaughan's Sunoco Service Station in Carmi for 26 years. He was a longtime member and past president of the Carmi Kiwanis club and a member of the Carmi VFW. He was a WWII Army veteran serving with occupational forces in Japan for 2 years. He attended the Carmi Church of the Nazarene. He is survived by: three children, Kevin Vaughan of Carmi; Donna and Randy Williams of Albion and Staci and Anthony Huffer of Carmi; five grandchildren, Kristal Horton, Lincoln and Lindsey Judge, Drew and Abby Huffer; four great-grandchildren, Dilin Horton, Ayli Dunk, Brianna and Kali Judge; one brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Terrisa Vaughan of Burnt Prairie; and two sisters, Melba Fulkerson of Carmi and Barbara Wagner of Springfield. He was also preceded in death by a brother, William Ralph Vaughan and a sister, Wilma Vaughan. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi with burial in Bruce Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2012, at the funeral home.
