    3. <http://www.carmitimes.com> Carmi Times Posted Mar 25, 2012 @ 09:24 AM Norris City, Ill. — Derald Henson, 85, of Eldorado and formerly of Norris City, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2012 at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado. He was born May 25, 1926 in Norris City, the son of Richard Clay and Cora Lee (Taylor) Henson. He married Frances Lucille Knight June 10, 1972, and she preceded him in death July 29, 1997. He then married Blanche Moye, and she preceded him in death Feb. 6, 2011. Derald was a U.S. Army combat infantry veteran of World War II. He worked as a millwright for the Chrysler Corp. and on the railroad and had a passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Derald attended Norris City Village Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Norris City American Legion. Derald is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Carroll and Beverly Henson of Goreville; one niece, Kim Williams; three nephews, Duane and Jason Henson, and Bob Connaway; and numerous great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives; three sisters, Doris June Skaggs, Judy Manning and Jane Connaway; and a brother, Gerald Henson. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City, the Rev. Rudy Barnett officiating. Burial will be in Village Cemetery near Norris City, with military rites by the Carmi VFW and American Legion posts. Friends may call from 5 until 8 p.m. Monday at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. Memorials can be made in Derald’s honor to the charity of your choice.
