Born in Carmi, she was a former resident of Toms River, N.J. before moving to Shamong 34 years ago. Rebecca was formerly employed by both the Indian Mills and Medford Lakes School systems. She was a member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church and a member of the Indian Mills Home & School Association. Rebecca was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan. Rebecca is the daughter of the late Marion and Arlyn Shipman, and sister of the late Michael Shipman. She is survived by her husband, John H. "Jack"; her daughter, Kelly of Shamong; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Kevin of Mt. Laurel, N.J. and Ryan and Keshia (Sisco) of Carmi; four grandchildren, Madelyn and Lilly of Shamong, N.J. and Mia and Cole of Carmi; her sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and Bob Brown of Centerville; her niece Bethany (Brown) and her husband, Tim Scates of Carmi; her nephew, Chad and his wife, Morgan (Sisco) Brown of Centerville. Relatives and friends can call on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 from 6 until 9 p.m. and again on Wednesday, May 16 from 10 until 11 a.m. at the Mathis Funeral Home located at 58 N. Main Street, Medford, N.J. 08055. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Parkview Cemetery in Medford. Arrangements are by the Mathis Funeral Home of Medford.
