NORRIS CITY -- John R. "Bob" Davis, 69, passed away at 1:14 a.m. Thursday, May 24, in Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. He was born March 20, 1943, in West Frankfort, the son of Cleamon and Mable (Griffith) Davis. He owned and operated Davis Auto Repair in West Frankfort and was a member of West Frankfort's First Christian Church. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Jennifer Davis of Norris City and Jaclyn and Charles Ogden of Franklin, Tenn.; two sisters, Viola Vene of Norris City and Patricia Sassamon of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two grandsons, Nathan and Jackson Ogden; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Irene Etters and Deloris Radice; and a brother, Tom Davis. Services for John R. "Bob" Davis will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 26, in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norris City, with the Rev. Janet Roy officiating. Burial will be after services. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
