She was born January 15, 1922 in Enfield, the daughter of John and Isabel (Diehl) Fields. She married Martin "Taters" Wageneck on October 15, 1942 in St. Louis, Mo., and he preceded her in death November 26, 2002. Mrs. Wageneck was a teacher in the Enfield public school for 39 years. She had taught Sunday School at Enfield Methodist Church. She was a member of the Methodist Church Women's Society, and the Modern Woodmen's of America. Mrs. Wageneck is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Jim Carter of Enfield; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Kim and Terry Woodrow of Clay City; a grandson, John Carter of Enfield; a sister, Alice Kelley, of Titusville, Fla.; and a great-granddaughter, Danielle Dillman and, her husband, Austin, of Hammond. She is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Willard, John, Edmund, Tom; and a sister, Harriet. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2012 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Enfield. Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday. The Reverend Mike Buckman will officiate the service. Burial will take place in Enfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southern Illinois Hospice or to Wabash Christian Retirement Center Alzheimer's Unit. Condolences may be left at kittinger-fairfuneralhome.com.
