The Hamilton County Historical Society Cemetery Walk is set for 4 to 6 p.m. May 12 and this year will include the Silver Band, a 16-piece orchestra playing period music and dressing in late 1800s attire, according to Donetta Reed of the historical society. Those participating in the walk will meet on the south side of the downtown square in McLeansboro. Transportation will be provided to IOOF Cemetery, where the historical society will have seven portrayals of people from the past, Reed said. It’s all brought to life by Bill Reynolds, orchestra director, Reed added. Refreshments, door prizes and books will also be available. Tickets will be available on site for $5.
