Carmi Times Mon Apr 20, 2009 Norris City, Ill. - Fern Russell, 84, Norris City, died at 5:28 p.m. Sunday, April 19, 2009, at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. She was born Sept. 28, 1924, in Enfield, the daughter of Maurice Adam and Waye (Crawford) Deahl. She married Dee Jeffrey Russell Aug. 18, 1939, and he preceded her in death April 13, 1981. Fern had been a member of the First United Methodist Church in Norris City since 1959 and was a beautician. She had also worked at Ainsbrook Sewing Factory and the Egyptian Health Department. Among her survivors are: two daughters, Judy (Terry) Daubs and Tracy Russell, all of Norris City; a brother, Robert D. (Diane) Russell of Murray, Ky.; a sister, Nellie Wichael of Iowa; four grandchildren, Craig Russell of Boston, Mass.; Mitchell Russell of Murray, Ky., Shelly Emrick of Marshall, Texas, and Jason Daubs of Eagle, Colo.; and five great-grandchildren. Arrangements are pending at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City.
