Norval C. "Cotton" Mick, Sr., 82, of Odin and formerly of Mt. Vernon, passed away at 11 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2009, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Centralia.He was born in Carmi on Friday, Oct. 8, 1926, a son of Frank and Jessie Mary (Locher) Mick. He married Norma J. on Feb. 3, 1947, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 7, 1999.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn with the Rev. Larry Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn. The chaplain of Mt. Vernon American Legion Post 141 will conduct a military flag presentation service at the cemetery.Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.Norval is survived by a son, Norval C. "Sonny" Mick, Jr. and wife Melba of Concord, N. C.; daughter, Sherry Davidson and husband William of Roxanna; four grandchildren, Steph-anie Mick-Hutchinson and husband Brian of Concord, N.
