Carmi Times Fri Oct 23, 2009 Carmi, Ill. - Richard E. Cashmore, 73, Carmi, died at 3:56 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. He was born June 27, 1936 in Waukegan, the son of Fred and Ethel Belle (Valentine) Cashmore. He married Karen Mae Lawson on Aug. 9, 1963. Mr. Cashmore worked in the oil industry as a sandblaster. Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Karen Cashmore; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Tina and Kregg Tolley of Crossville, Vonda and Melvin Thomas of Bungay, June Hurt of Carmi, Regina and George Elliott of West Salem, and Mary and Brian Jones of Ridgway; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Lisa Budeuis Cashmore of Carmi; five sisters, Mary Clendenining of Vandalia, Linda Lowe of Kenosha, Wis., Donna Colella of Zion, Gwenn Pope of Tennessee and Doris Guin of Arkansas; 13 grandchildren, Brittanie and Brandon Desper, Cody Cashmore, Anthony Thomas, Cassie Elliott, Max Elliott, Sam Elliott, Keagan Beam, Joe Jones, Jake Jones, Mallory Jones, Melody Jones, Levi Sork and Briley Tolley; and one great-grandchild, Aiden Desper. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, the Rev. Dan Bobbit officiating. Burial will be in Melrose Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
