Carmi Times Mon Oct 05, 2009 Grayville, Ill. - Norma L. Young, 69, formerly of rural Grayville, died Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009, at Gentle Care Rehabilitation Center in Vincennes, Ind. She was born March 25, 1940, in Carmi, the daughter of Martin and Elizabeth (Raglin) Russell. She was married to Arnold Young, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 2005. Norma was a homemaker and farm wife. She attended Liberty Baptist Church in Burnt Prairie and Christ Community Church in Vincennes. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Home Extension and the VFW Women's Auxiliary. Some of her favorite pastimes were cooking, crafts, gardening, quilting, music and searching for bargains. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Jannette Young of Grayville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sherry Talbot of Louisville, Ky., and Renee and Ron Fellows of Vincennes, Ind.; eight grandchildren, Kassie Lowe, Cody Fellows, Sara Young, Kayla Young, Ashley Young, Melody Young, Adrien Talbot and Erica Talbot. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville. Funeral is at 10 a.m. Thursday at Cook Funeral Chapel, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and will be accepted at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville.
