Carmi Times Thu Jul 30, 2009 Mill Shoals - Carl Wheeler, 59, Mill Shoals, died at 10:53 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2009 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he had been a loader operator and yard foreman at Taylor Sawmill in Enfield. Survivors include his wife, Janice Wheeler of Mill Shoals; two daughters, Samantha Whitley of Barnhill and Shannon Lewis of Vincennes, Ind.; a son, Nicholas Wheeler of Burnt Prairie; four sisters, Barbara Crider of Cave-in-Rock, Linda Reed of Norris City, Vicky Tullis of Mill Shoals and Betty Burnett of Festus, Mo.; two brothers, Gerald and Rod Wheeler, both of Fairfield; a sister-in-law, Brenda Wheeler of Cullman, Ala.; and two grandchildren. Services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield, with burial in Shrewsbury Cemetery at Mill Shoals with full military honors.
