Carmi Times Tue Jul 28, 2009 Mt. Vernon, Ill. - Flora Wagner, 97, Mt. Vernon, Ill. and formerly of Carmi, passed away at 8:10 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon, Ill. She was born June 7, 1912 at Ullin, the daughter of Charles Henry and Lydia Mae (Lovin) McCluskey. She married Chester Bertram Wagner July 5, 1930, and he preceded her in death Nov. 20, 1978. Mrs. Wagner was a homemaker. She was a member of Carmi First Pentecostal Church and was a Sunday school teacher. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Cecelia Wagner of Mt. Vernon, Ill., and the Rev. Donald and Pauline Wagner of Moorhead, Minn.; one sister, Rose Griffin of Winter Springs, Fla.; one brother, Charles McCluskey of Carmi; six grandchildren, David, Randy, Douglas, Christopher and Arron Wagner, and Donna Coy; 15 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Bertram Wagner; a son, Kenneth Ray Wagner; a brother, Hayward McCluskey; her stepmother, Mary Melvin McCluskey; a great-grandson, Dustin Coy; and a great-great-grandson, Dayne Wagner. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, the Rev. Bill Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Newman Cemetery near Carmi. Friends may call from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
