Carmi Times Wed Sep 09, 2009 Oklahoma - A memorial service for Gloria Dean Gibbons, 76, Clinton, Okla., will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009 at Clinton First United Methodist Church, Dr. Robert Blakeburn officiating. Gloria was born Dec. 5, 1932 in Kilgore, Texas, to C.B. and Virgie (Dixon) Smith, and passed away Sept. 5, 2009 at her Clinton home. She attended 21 different grade schools and graduated from the high school in Morganfield, Ky. as valedictorian. She graduated from Oklahoma College of Liberal Arts and earned her master of arts degree from the University of Evansville. She taught special education in Ada, Okla., Carmi and Evansville. In 1952, she married James D. Cox. She was blessed with two daughters, Pamela Sue and Sherri Kay. She married Michael Gibbons in 1994.
