Carmi Times Wed Sep 09, 2009 Florida Arthur Steele "Bocie" Franks, 86, Merritt Island, Fla., was called to his Heavenly Father Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009. Arthur was born in Maunie and moved to Brevard County, Fla. in 1972. He served his country four years in the U.S. Army during World War II. Arthur is survived by his loving wife, Shirley, of Merritt Island, Fla.; two sons, Paul of Cocoa, Fla., and Larry of Port Orange, Fla.; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Emery, of Merritt Island, Fla.; his grandchildren, Michael, Melissa, Amanda and Jennifer, all of Florida, Ryan, in the U.S. Marines, and Shawn, in the U.S. Army; and great-grandchildren, Hayden, Lola and Henry. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009 at Port St. John (Fla.) United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
