I believe that my great-great grandfather was his brother, Harrison Smith, and I'm trying to get more information on when -- and why -- the family ended up in Missouri. I have records that place my great-grandfather, Ed Smith, in Stoddard County as early as 1900, but I don't know much more about the time between 1880 and 1900, thanks to the loss of the 1890 Census.
