Carmi Times Mon Dec 07, 2009 TROY, IL Charles G. Sullivan, 68, Troy, Ill., and formerly of Crossville, died Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, at the St. Louis VA Medical Center after complications developed from a cancer surgery. Charles was born in Crossville July 27, 1941, to J.D. and Mamie Sullivan. They preceded him in death. Charles was a Crossville Community High School graduate and served from 1959-1963 in the U.S. Marine Corps. He had owned his own plumbing business in Carmi before leaving the area to work as a pipe fitter at shipyards in Louisiana and at Norfolk, Va. Among his survivors are three sisters, Maranna Fritz of Sturgis, Ky., Mary Linda Wheeler of New Haven and Jane Risley of Massachusetts; two sons, Jerry (Robin) Sullivan of Eddyville, Ky., and Brad (Rosemary) Sullivan of Troy; and two daughters, Beth Sullivan of Crossville and Jennifer Queen of Silver Spring, Md. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Tommy. The body has been cremated. A graveside service is set for 1 p.m. Saturday, with internment of the ashes to follow at Stokes Chapel Cemetery near Crossville.
