Carmi Times Mon Dec 28, 2009 SANDOVAL - Flora M. Carter, 93, Sandoval, died Friday, Dec. 25, 2009 at Odin Care Center in Odin. She was born on May 9, 1916 at Centralia, a daughter of Walter H. and Ethyl M. (Sellers) Fetgetter. She married George Carter on Aug. 27, 1938 at St. Charles, Mo., and he preceded her in death on July 25, 2005. She is survived by two sons, Dale Carter and his wife Carol of Marissa, and Revis Carter and his wife Karen of West Valley, Utah; one brother, Wesley Fetgetter and his wife Helen of Streamwood; one sister, Louise Southerland of Centralia; one sister-in-law, Barbara Fetgetter of Centralia; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Charles Ray Carter; three, brothers Donald, Oland and James; and two sisters, Fern and Thelma. She lived in Junction City, then moved to Carmi, where she remained for 39 years. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Carmi. She was an active church member and played the piano at church. She enjoyed music, crafts and crocheting. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Day Funeral Home in Sandoval, Brother Jeff Downard officiating. Burial will be at McClelland-Andereck Cemetery. Friends may call from 7-8 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. until the service time Tuesday at the funeral home in Sandoval.
