    3. Carmi Times Wed May 06, 2009 Annilee D. Lewis CARMI Annilee D. Lewis, 82, Carmi, died Tuesday morning, April 5, 2009, at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. She was born Dec. 16, 1926, in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph M. and Jessie N. (Lee) Duncan. She was married to Lawrence Daniel "Dan" Lewis on July 28, 1953, in Bebe, Ark., and he survives. Annilee was very active in First Christian Church in Carmi, where she was a pianist, organist, Sunday school teacher and faithful choir member. She was a former chairman of the White County Republican Women's Organization, a 50-plus year member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and member of the Opportunity Club of Enfield. She worked in the business offices of several Ford auto dealerships in Carmi, Eldorado and McLeansboro. In the early 1950s, she and her husband Dan operated the Carmi Sani-Cream, located on outer West Oak Street in Carmi. Survivors include her husband, Dan Lewis of Carmi; a son, Larry Lewis of Carmi; a daughter and son-in-law, Erixana and Tim Brooks of Madison, Ind.; and three grandchildren, Duncan, Araminta and Jacob Brooks. Annilee is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Jessie Duncan. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi. The funeral is at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi. Burial will be in White County Memorial Garden near Carmi. Memorials may be made to the Christian Workers Sunday School Class and will be accepted at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi.
