Carmi Times Fri Jun 12, 2009 Carmi, Ill. - Margaret "Lil" Dagley, 88, Carmi, died Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind. She was born March 30, 1921, in Hawthorne Township, White County, Ill., the daughter of Charles P. and Eura (Wilson) Burris. She was married to Marion Lee Dagley, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 1983. Margaret was a retired legal secretary and member of First Baptist Church in Carmi. She enjoyed reading, painting, traveling, family and her church. Survivors include a daughter, LeAnn Rogers, and her husband, Mark, of Carmi; three grandchildren, Kyle Rogers, Kasey Rogers and Jennifer Gifford; and one great-grandchild, Briley Rogers. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Eura Burris; her husband, Marion Lee Dagley; two sons, Tommy Joe Dagley and David Lee Dagley; one daughter, Denise Lyn Gifford; five brothers, Morris, Dallas, Delbert, Elbert and Doyle Burris; and two sisters, Ermal Dial and Jeannie Acker. Visitation and funeral are Saturday, June 13, 2009, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi. Visitation is at 11 a.m. and continues until funeral time at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Kingdom Cemetery near Carmi. Memorials may be made to the Carmi Public Library and will be accepted at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi.
