Carmi Times Wed Jun 10, 2009 Carmi, Ill. - Jane Turner, 50, Carmi, passed away at 4:59 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at her residence in Carmi. She was born Nov. 12, 1958 in Carmi, the daughter of John Edward and Betty (Hays) Turner. She was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church and had worked as office manager for the Wabash & Ohio Valley Special Education District (WOVSED) in Norris City for 33 years. Surviving are her mother, Betty Turner of Carmi; a sister, Susan Miller and friend, Terry Bassemier, of Carmi; a brother, John Turner of Mt. Carmel; six nieces, Angela and husband Jeff Mendenhall, Lisa Miller, Ashley Miller and friend Heath Renshaw, Morgan, Megan and Madison Turner; two grand-nieces, Emily Jane Renshaw and Haylie Mendenhall; a grand-nephew, Jason Mendenhall; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will be in West Union Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be given in Jane Turner's memory to the Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be received at the funeral home
