Carmi Times Mon Jun 15, 2009 Carmi, Ill. - Grace Davis, 95, Carmi, passed away at 12:05 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2009 at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. She was born Aug. 22, 1913 in Bluford, the daughter of Joseph F. and Erma Maude (Bean) Brown. She married Norman L. Davis in 1943, and he preceded her in death Feb. 14, 1985. She was a member of First Christian Church of Carmi and a homemaker. Surviving are a daughter, Marilyn Carter of Carmi; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Debbie Davis of Cutler; three grandchildren, Wayne Carter, Charlotte Nipper and Sarah Zettler; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Ashby Sanders. Graveside funeral services and burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at White County Memorial Garden near Carmi, with Mike Fields officiating.
