Jesse L. Summers was our paster at the Church of God, 306 East Main St., Pulaski, Virginia 24301. He was killled in an auto accident near Dublin [about 5 miles East of Pulaski] on October 13, 1953. In addition to Rev. Summers, a former pastor of the Pulaski Church of God was killed in the same accident. I think his last name was Thomas. Brother Summers was our much-loved pastor, and even though I was only 10 years old, I was greatly affected by his death and will never forget it. Every October 13 I think about that terrible day in 1953. I've been wanting to see if I could find his kids [there were maybe 2 or 3], just to let them know that somebody remembers the wonderful man their father was.
