Carmi Times Thu Mar 04, 2010 Carmi, Ill. - Noble Dean Chapman, 72, of Carmi passed away at 9:06 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2010 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind. He was born Oct. 6, 1937 in Emma, the son of Frank B. and Ruth (Walker) Chapman. He married Virginia Lee Brooks, and she survives. Noble Dean was a truck driver and had served in the Marine Reserves for nine years. Surviving are his wife, Virginia of Carmi; a son, Kerry Chapman of Evansville, Ind.; a daughter, Deana Chapman, and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Rebecca and Darrell Hampton of Phoenix, Ariz., and Camilla Blackford of Evansville, Ind. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 6, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, the Rev. Lowes Browning officiating. Burial will be in Powell Cemetery near Norris City. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Saturday until the service time.
