Carmi Times Fri Mar 05, 2010 Crossville, Ill. - Celestia Mae Hurt, 94, formerly of Crossville, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010, in Palm Bay, Fla. She was born Oct. 12, 1915, in Oklahoma, daughter of the late Ed and Alice Timmons. She was the beloved wife of Odis Hurt, who preceded her in death, and beloved mother of her only son, Don Odis Hurt and daughter-in-law, June Hurt. Celestia was a member of the Church of Christ in Vero Beach, Fla. Survivors include her son, Don Odis Hurt and his wife June of Buckhannon, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Brad Hurt of Crossville, Shannon Hurt Beafore of Fairmont, W.Va. and Odie Hurt of Virginia Beach, Va.; four great-grandchildren, Chandler Petitto and Alexander Beafore of Fairmont, W.Va., and Quinton Hurt and Miranda Hurt of Chesterfield, Va. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a sister, Faye Timmons Richards, and brother, Ed Timmons. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Stokes Chapel Cemetery. There will be no prior visitation, and those wishing to attend are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Cook Funeral Chapel in Crossville is in charge of arrangements.
