Carmi Times Mon Mar 15, 2010 Carmi, Ill. - Roy G. Murphy, 59, Carmi, died Thursday, March 11, 2010, at his home. He was born Sept. 14, 1950, in Mt. Vernon, Ill., the son of Benny and Della (Hollenbeck) Murphy. He was married to Carolyn (Rumsey) Murphy, and she survives. Roy had worked as a garbage collector. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Murphy, and two sons, John and Joey Murphy, all of Carmi. He is preceded in death by his parents, Benny and Della Murphy. Roy's remains were cremated, and no services are planned. Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi handled arrangements.
