I have forgotten where he enlisted but would think it would have been in Indiana. I would guess by the photo that he was perhaps between 70 - 80 in the photo which would make the date of the photo between 1914 and 1924. Maybe others of you are better at guessing the ages of these men than I. I think the old dress and beards or mustaches sometimes age the individual in our eyes...and I do think they lived harder lives than most of us do today. For family members still living in White County, James Alexander Miller was the grandfather of Grace Hodge Spencer, E. Wave Jamerson, Nauvard Jamerson Bolyard (sp), Elizabeth "Betty" Jamerson Savage Huffer, and A. Edward Artin, Victor "Babe" Artin and Harold Artin...all of Mill Shoals or Enfield Twp. His wife and the mother of his children was Mary Elizabeth Jackson of Perry County, Indiana and his second wife who he married shortly before his death was a Justice (that may or may not have been a married surname). I believe she was the grandmother or great grandmother of Carl Justice. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
