EAST PEORIA - Robert D. Queen, age 69, of East Peoria passed away Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, at 4:23 p.m. at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born May 21, 1940, in Edina, Mo., to Richard and Helen (Cheatum) Queen. He married Susie G. Lanman on July 30, 1966, in Peoria. She survives along with one daughter, Lori (Sami) Sarraf of Peoria; one son, Steve (Nancy) Queen of Peoria; seven grandchildren, Noelle and Paige Sarraf of Peoria, Hannah, Logan, Harrison, Lauren and Louis Queen, all of Peoria; and one sister, Margie Moore of Carmi, Ill. Robert was an electrician for Caterpillar Inc. for 34 years, retiring in 1995. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1958 to 1962. He was a member of Local 974, the retired Caterpillar Pool League and the Senior Softball League at the Peoria Stadium. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Funeral services will be at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:30 till service time at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
