Carmi Times Mon Feb 01, 2010 Rantoul - Mary "Jane" Gill-Hankins of Rantoul left this earth on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010 at Country Health Nursing Home in Gifford, Ill. She was born Sept. 24, 1938 in Concord, Ill., a daughter of Harry (Anna) Hankins and Elizabeth Stewart - Hackathal. She married Harold Gill on Oct. 3, 1964 in Rantoul. He survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Anna (Kenny) Cronin of Carmi, Sandy (Randy) Arnold of Bismarck and Teresa (Brian) Murray of Rantoul; three grandsons, Jarrod Arnold, Ryan Cronin and Noah Murray; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Ann (Melvin) Niekamp of Carmi; and a mother-in-law of Rantoul. She was preceded in death by her parents, a stepbrother, a stepsister and a nephew. Jane was a graduate of Carmi Township High School. She worked at Provena (Mercy) Hospital for 40 years as a pharmacy technician, retiring in 2002. She enjoyed camping, crafts, reading and garage sales. There will be a gathering of friends and family from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5 at Lux Memorial Chapel, 1551 E. Grove Ave., Rantoul, IL 61866. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Beckman Cemetery in Thomasboro. Father Michael Bias will officiate.
