Carmi Times Thu Feb 18, 2010 _____ Enfield, Ill. - James C. Balsover Jr., 65, died Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 17, 2010 at his home in New Haven. He was born Jan. 20, 1945 at Springerton, the son of James C. and Wanda (Powell) Balsover Sr. He married Linda Brown, and she survives. Jim worked for eight years at the coal mine in McLeansboro and 27 years at Airtex in Fairfield, retiring in 2007. He was a Vietnam veteran of the United States Army. Jim is survived by his wife, Linda; one son, James Lee "Bub" Balsover of Springerton; three daughters and their spouses, Christina and Darrin Atteberry of Mt. Erie, Cynthia Nixon of Wayne City, and Terra and Kyle Harris of Fairfield; eight grandchildren, Deanna, Austin, Dustin, Maissie, Lindsay, Amber, Janey and Jaxen; one sister, Barbara Egan of Evansville, Ind.; and a special friend, Ransom Musgrave. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Enfield. Burial will follow in White County Memorial Garden near Carmi, with military rites conducted by members of the Carmi American Legion and VFW posts.
