Grayville, Ill. - Hortense T. Jones, 65, formerly of White County, died Friday, Feb. 19, 2010, at her home in Evansville, Ind. She was born in San Antonio, Texas, on March 31, 1944. She was a registered nurse and member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Evansville, and was active in the Little Sisters of the Poor. Survivors include her husband, Luther Jones of Evansville; a son, Matthew Hawkins, and his wife, Selena, of Mt. Carmel; three grandchildren, Joshua M. Hawkins, Crystal Rickards and Selena E.M. Hawkins; and a great-grandson, Brandon Mudd. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother. Visitation and funeral service will be Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville. Visitation is at 10 a.m. and continues until funeral time at noon. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville.
