Carmi Times Mon Feb 08, 2010 Carmi, Ill. - Beulah Margaret (Seitz) Bryant, 91 years, 4 days, Carmi, died at 8:10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. Beulah was born Feb. 2, 1919 in Saline County, the daughter of Jacob G. and Margaret C. (Rhein) Seitz. She married Theron Gilbert Bryant on Feb. 21, 1942. She was a lifelong member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. Beulah was an elementary school teacher for 39 years at Jefferson Grade School, Brockett School and Simpson School. She was a member of the White County Retired Teachers Association. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed outdoor activities. Beulah helped Theron raise registered beagles for over 50 years. Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Jan (Sailer) Bryant of Liberty, Mo.; three granddaughters, Jill Loxterman (Brett) of Roeland Park, Kan., Beth Bryant of Overland, Mo. and Kati Bryant of Minneapolis, Minn.; one sister, Ruth Sturm of Harrisburg; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Theron, on Jan. 13, 2003; her only son, Ronald Theron Bryant, on May 26, 2006; her parents and three sisters, Lydia Miller of Huntingburg, Ind., Louise Stanley and Esther Taylor of Carmi. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, 2010 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, with the Rev. Steven Friese officiating. Burial was in Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi.
