Hi all - As of today, there's a new group in town: the GENEALOGY SOCIETY OF WHITE COUNTY ILLINOIS. The Society will be mainly newsletter-oriented, with an 8 to 16-page newsletter sent bi-monthly, starting in February 2003. We will also be doing research for a fee, and publishing White County Genealogy books. The initial directors are myself, Tullyne Oliver, Nancy Hays, Anna Jones, Charlene Shields, Janet Armstrong, and Barbara Bradley. I've mailed out some "Invitations to Join" letters today, using a mailing list gleaned largely from those who have bought my books, in addition to others who have expressed an interest in having a separate Genealogy Society. If you're interested in joining, or just finding out more, contact me privately, and I'll email you a pdf (attachment) of the "Invitation", which you can print out, or just read. We'll be publishing queries in the Newsletter ("Roots & Branches"), so whether you join or not, you're invited to submit your queries for the first issue.
