    1. [ILWHITE] Salem Cemetery Question
    2. Debbie & Jim McArdle
    3. Does anyone in our group know if any records exist about the burial plots at Salem Cemetery? My McCollister Edwards is supposedly buried next to his son in law, Alonzo Daniel, according to family legend, but there is no stone. I would very much like to confirm this. In answer to the question posed about driving to the cemetery, the approximate legal description of the land is: Section 7, Township 4 South, Range 9 East (of 3rd PM). I have tried to get you driving directions through various map programs I have. The best I can come up with is to take 2nd Street south out of the old town of Burnt Prairie. You would have to go about 2 or 4 miles south of Burnt Prairie and if memory serves me, the cemetery is on the east side of the street. There used to be an old church there, but last time I visited, the church was gone and a marker was in place. When driving south on 2nd Street, if you cross Skillet Fork on the old bridge, you have gone too far. I am also curious if this is an active cemetery or an older one that is out of service? I beleive there are a few people of the Toombs name buried there and would like to visit the cemetery for confirmation of Toombs buried there and to take a few photos of the graves. Is there an online map available that shows the locations of the cemeteries in White County? I know of the ones off the main roads but have usually get lost on the ones that are off side roads. Any help would be appreciated. > > Thanks!! > > > > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 > > >
