There is a large Garrison family in White County, not many Montgomery's, but I didn't see either of the given names in our largest database. Have you tried ancestry world tree to see if someone else has researched your family and put it on line? To find your great-grandparents your best bet is getting your grandparents marriage license, if you have a marriage location. Illinois has old marriage records online.
