On my g-grandfather's death certificate his birth place is listed as KY. I know only three of his sons: Albert A., George (died at Andersonville), and William Samuel (my great-grandfather). I would be interested in knowing the other siblings. I did find reference to Thomas Newman being Administrator of Thomas Wicker's will. Thomas Newman's wife was Susan Wicker (her birth place is listed as Tennessee on the death cert. mentioned earlier). Any other information you have would be appreciated. You may want to search in Tenn. records in the early 1800's for Thomas Wicker. I believe they probably came to Illinois sometime between 1810 and 1820. In the record of Thomas Newman's death his birthplace is Logan County, KY.
