Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Yh.2ADE/494.557.916.1096.1334.1 Message Board Post: I also have connections between Carmi in White Co, and Equality in Gallatin with surnames MAYHEW and HARGRAVE. Abner FLANDERS and wife Deborah HILL settled in Equality; son Charles married Sarah HARGRAVE. Deborah's brothers (or half-brothers) Joseph and Morris (and maybe Abner too) HILL settled at Carmi late 1820s. Morris' son Benjamin O HILL married Eliza NEWMAN. The HILL sibling's father was John of Tioga (later Chemung) Co, NY. Down the FLANDERS line, Myrtle, daughter of Oscar Peabody FLANDERS, son of Charles and Sarah, married a Bill MAYHEW up in early 1900s. Bill would have been born about 1890ish; I know nothing more of MAYHEW, so if you can connect I'd like to know. More HILL and FLANDERS 1800s IL married-into surnames of those 2 towns/counties are: NEWMAN PERRYMAN, McCARTY PHIPPS GOTT PROCTOR PURCELL DAVENPORT
