He served in the Civil War with the Illinois infantry. He was wounded and discharged. Is this the same one? I have him as my GGG Grandfather. His son would have been John Layman, who married Sarah Josephine Phillips, and their son would be Harry Joseph Lehman, who married Anna Dick. Harry and Anna are my G Grandparents. Anyway, if any of this rings a bell, I would love to share information... thanks...
