Surnames: ADAMS DUNCAN CROWDER Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Yh.2ADE/1961 Message Board Post: Looking for any information on the John and Ailsey ADAMS family.(b VA and GA) They were in Saline Co IL Curran District for the 1850 Federal Census with John as head of house, then they appear on the 1860 Philipstown PO White Co Il Federal Census without John, and wife Ailsey appears as "Ailsley", John evidently has died. Also on the 1860 is A. ADAMS, he is eldest son Anderson ADAMS with wife Nancy DUNCAN a girl Mary b ca 1852 Mississippi, and his son Charles Robert b 1855 (Hardin Co IL , mo. Letty A.? ADAMS first wife of Anderson ADAMS ,shown on 1850 Saline , and on Hardin Co federal land records as Lutitia-Leticia ADAMS)There seems to be at least two-three separate ADAMS families on the 1860 census, is anyone looking for mine? The two sons, Anderson, and Thomas moved over to Jackson Co IL by 1870, it also seems as tho' most of their brothers and sisters moved too, and married in Jackson Co IL. One brother, Stephen ADAMS who served in the CW died in White Co IL and is evide! ntially buried in the Philipstown area in 1865 remained there. There were a couple daughters that must have md in either Saline Co IL or White Co IL, and I cannot find them, Sarah ADAMS b ca 1838 Ky, Eliza ADAMS b ca 1844 KY, and Delpha ADAMS b ca 1849 KY. Of course one or all of these girls could have died. Any information would be great, and will share too. Thanks.
