There is a large Garrison family in White County, not many Montgomery's, but I didn't see either of the given names in our largest database. Have you tried ancestry world tree to see if someone else has researched your family and put it on line? To find your great-grandparents your best bet is getting your grandparents marriage license, if you have a marriage location. Illinois has old marriage records online.

Dear Fronie, That is all I have on Lemuel Turker. I got this information from Ancestry. com, IL Marriage List, 1851-1900. I can't say it is written in stone. I know nothing else about Nancy Jane. If you could get Lemuel civil war record that will tell you alot about him. I learn my gr gr uncle height, hair color and color of eyes. Maybe Nancy died and Lemuel married your Martha Ann. I noticed there was 3 yrs different in the marriages. Happy Hunting, JoAnn Russell Statom

Hi Norm, Sorry for my delay response but went to an all day Beginners workshop Saturday and so much knowledge my brain was dead. This is what I have on the RUSSELL family: Joseph A. Russell born, 16 June 1843, married Christian (can't remember last name) but have it somewhere. Nancy Jane Russell born, 1846, married Lemuel Tucker John W. Russell born 1849, married Sarah Jane Brewer Martin A. Russell born 1850, married Harriet Ann Gidcomb Lewis Jackson Russell born 4 May 1853, married Matilda Brasher Calvin on 27 July 1873 Hannah Russell born 1856, married David Hughes 24 May 1874 George A. Russell born 1859 I have been corresponding with Martin Pierce and Martin is working very hard to find our HIRAM A RUSSELLS parents. We all a stuck at this point of time. I am not sure of some reports coming out that our Hiram A was the son of Hiram Russell who married Millie Graham in KY. In fact I believe the gentleman of that line has it documented that Hiram who married Millie had no children named Hiram. I am new at this, only one year but I firmly believe in documenting your source. That was one thing that every speaker said at the work shop. I also am in contact with Maxine Land who is my first cousin. If there is any way I can be of help please feel free to ask. I do have Joseph Civil War Record by way of cousin Maxine. They are very interesting reading. My e-mail address is STATOMB@aol.com Thank you for your response. JoAnn Russell Statom
